Se muestra esta vista aerea del inmenso aeródromo de Tocumwal, en New South Wales, (Australia) casi tocando con el estado vecino de Victoria. Las instalaciones al centro eran entonces la sede de Sportavia Soaring Center, importante centro de vuelo a vela australiano de la època. Hice esta foto volando el velero clase open Nimbus 2 (20 m. de envergadura y con flaps) y en ella el color marrón del paisaje delata el clima caluroso del verano australiano.
Todas las operaciones de vuelo a vela, remolques y aterrizajes se realizaban en la hierba al lado de las pistas, las cuales eran utilizadas por otros operadores.
