I WAS VERY HAPPY TO KNOW THAT SOME OF YOU MANAGED TO PHOTOGRAPH THE CATALINA AT Salamanca!... Performing a low pass for the dozens of spotters and enthusiasts from APEA that traveled thousands of kilometers to see the departure of the Catalina during the start of the ferry flight to Australia. Real registration is VH-CAT, but it was registered temporarily as N160AT for the flight. Presently, they're arriving at India and they are expected to arrive at Sidney during the first week of December. Unfortunately they're having financial problems regarding to fuel and they need all of our help with donations (even the smallest one can make a difference)!

ATTENTION SPANISH SPOTTERS... This Catalina will takeoff from Seia at 9am 15th November and will land at Salamanca!!!! This beauty had an engine failure 3 years ago when flying for Aerocondor as CC-CNP and was abandoned in Seia for two years. In 2007, the Catalina Flying Memorial bought this aircraft and on the last test flight (November 2007) the same engine failed again... now almost 1 year later, the test flights and the 10 leg flight to Australia is very near (less than one month)! Check Catalina Flying Memorial's website for more information about what route will the aircraft fly until Australia... I just hope this photo is accepted at AC before the flight to Salamanca....
