Casi todos los aficionados saben que SAS ha tenido B737 classic producto de la adquisición de Braathens en 2004 pero bastantes menos sabrán que años antes ya los tuvo, producto de la compra en 1993 de otra compañía sueca: Lynjeflyg. Nueve B737-500 pasaron a SAS que los repintó con la librea utilizada por entonces y los utilizó durante un corto periodo de tiempo pues los revendió a Bitish Midland entre 1993 y 1995. c/n 25167 Nuevo en AC

Este avión llegó a España junto con una partida de Do-27 compradas por el Ejército del Aire al Ejército alemán allí fue el 55-21, al llegar a España el Ejército del Aire lo destina a unidades de enlace con la identificación L.9-60 y posteriormente U.9-60. Al ser dados de baja en la Aviación Militar, es transferido a la Subsecretaría de Aviación Civil, que lo da de alta en el Registro de Aeronaves en 1973, pasando a prestar servicio en la Escuela de Vuelo sin Motor de Huesca. Pasando mas tarde a ser operado por SENASA en La Escuela de Ocaña en Toledo. Actualmente es operado por la Fundación Infante de Orleans, (FIO). Tanto las matrículas como los nombres de los primeros Jumbos de Virgin Atlantic dejaban clara la intención de las rutas a cubrir en sus inicios. Este era el "Boston Belle", adquirido de Qantas en 1991 y vendido a Kabo Air en 2001. Nuevo registro en Aviation Corner.
