Basado en el avión de pasajeros Beech Modelo 18, el AT-7 fue utilizado por la USAAF para entrenamiento de navegantes durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial y durante varios años después de la guerra. En cada vuelo se transportaban tres estudiantes y un instructor.
