Este caza naval de reconocimiento lo utilizo el Ejercito revolucionario durante la batalla de Playa Girón.Fuerón retirados del servicio hacia el año 1961,con la llegada de los MIG adquiridos a la Unión Soviética. En la actualidad se conservan dos aparatos,el FAR541,expuesto en el museo de Playa Girón en Matanzas, y este FAR542 en La Habana.
