Balair comenzó sus vuelos charter en 1957, y dos años después Swissair entró en su accionariado, convirtiéndose con el tiempo en su filial para vuelos a demanda. En enero del 79 adquirió su único DC-10 que permaneció en la flota hasta comienzos de 1993. Aquí lo vemos tomando en la 24R de Palma
