Hola Foro!

Saludos,
GZ

Comunicado oficial:

Five non-stop flights per week from Frankfurt
Lufthansa is expanding its services to South America. With the introduction of the 2010/2011 winter timetable on 31 October, the airline will resume flights to the Colombian capital Bogotá. Five flights per week are scheduled between Frankfurt and Bogotá, operated by an Airbus A340. Lufthansa served Bogotá, which is situated in the northwestern corner of South America, until 2002. Once this service is resumed, Lufthansa will offer its customers a total of 60 flights per week to four destinations in South America.

“Colombia is one of the growth regions in South America,” says Dr. Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, Lufthansa’s Head of Hub Management Frankfurt. “This winter, Bogotá will become the fourth destination in South America after Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Caracas to be served non-stop by Lufthansa from Frankfurt.”

With a population of about seven million, the Colombian capital Bogotá is one of the most important financial and industrial centres in Latin America. More than 700 international companies have set up business operations in the city, which is conveniently situated in the heart of the country. Bogotá is a popular tourist destination, thanks to its historic Old Town and its rich and varied cultural life. Due to its geographical situation and frequent flight connections to neighbouring countries, Bogotá is also an important hub for the countries in the Andes region such as Ecuador and Peru. Lying at an altitude of about 2,600 metres above sea level, Bogotá is also one of the highest cities in the world.

Lufthansa is offering a round-trip fare from Frankfurt to Bogotá starting at 799 euros. This price applies to Economy Class and includes all taxes, fees and the Lufthansa Ticket Service Charge of 10 euros if the booking is made online at www.lufthansa.com. Miles & More members can earn miles on these flights.
