Help Catalogue Our Photo Collection Should you find that you have a spare moment during July, you may wish to visit the Museum’s Flickr Channel. Here, we have posted a selection of photograph albums donated to the Museum by members of the public during the1970s where, due to the failing memories of the people making donations at the time or due to lack of notes on the back of photographs, our Curatorial team has drawn a blank as to how to catalogue these images as they contain within them no immediate or obvious reference points. Currently we have 3 albums on display – Mrs Cottell’s Photo Album (the young airman giving a small rabbit a glass of beer is a particular favourite http://www.flickr.com/photos/royalairfor...=email&utm_campaign=London%20July%20News); The Central Flying School in UpAvon Wilts from 1916 to 1917 http://www.flickr.com/photos/royalairfor...email&utm_campaign=London%20July%20News; and Royal Flying Corps Cadets in Canada and the USA during 1917 and 1918 http://www.flickr.com/photos/royalairfor...email&utm_campaign=London%20July%20News. We will add a new album each month. If you recognise any of the individuals or landmarks contained in these images; or if you are able to shed light on any of the equipment being used or celebrations being commemorated we would welcome you posting your comments to the relevant photograph.
